Tallgrass presents the World Premiere of The Emerald Earring, a dark comedy written by local playwright Justin Nostrala and directed by Jennifer Nostrala. This is the 10th Annual Sarah Frank & Jack Balcombe Dream Project.
The story is about a woman’s struggle between trying to support the institution of marriage and family, while reckoning with her beliefs about abortion. The discovery of an earring in the back of a husband’s car leads to suspicion, accusation, coverup, and challenges in a couple’s marriage. At the center of it all, Claire, is forced to confront the contrast between her belief in her marriage, and her feelings on the current state of reproductive rights in the United States.
