Bravo Greater Des Moines is pleased to announce the Co-hosts for the 15th Annual Bravo Awards Gala: Dan Keough, Chairman and CEO of Holmes Murphy and Mike McCoy, CEO of NCMIC Group.
"We are excited to have these dynamic individuals welcome the 1,500 gala attendees gathered to celebrate Bravo’s impact on arts, culture and heritage in Greater Des Moines. Dan and Mike are vibrant leaders that understand the essential role of the arts to quality of life and to economic development in the region and we are thrilled to be working with them on the 15th Annual Bravo Awards Gala," commented Sally Dix, Executive Director of Bravo Greater Des Moines.
Dan Keough currently serves as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Holmes Murphy. Dan is deeply engrained in philanthropic work and engaged in our local community, including serving on several boards such as the Des Moines Art Center, Kum & Go, Bankers Trust, the L.C. Advisory Board, and the Council of Insurance Agents and Brokers (CIAB). Dan is incredibly passionate about ensuring a vibrant arts, culture, and philanthropic scene for Central Iowa. He feels it not only helps ensure our community is a great one to live, work, and play in, but it also helps with Holmes Murphy’s efforts to attract and retain the best talent in the industry.
In 2019, Holmes Murphy announced the formation of the Holmes Murphy Foundation for its philanthropic and charitable-giving initiatives. The concept of giving back was not new to the company; Holmes Murphy annually contributes over $1.3 million in charitable donations and logs more than 10,000 volunteer hours.
While CEO Mike McCoy is well known for his contributions as a business leader, he takes the greatest pride in leading NCMIC as they make a positive impact in Central Iowa. For Mike, NCMIC’s mission – We Take Care of Our Own – is much more than a tagline. It is demonstrated in how they treat their customers, their employees, and the communities where they live and work. Under Mike’s leadership, NCMIC was voted Top Workplace the past two years. The company’s Charitable Contributions Committee allocates nearly $500,000 to local non-profits each year, and employees and the company committed $153,000 to United Way for 2020. They have raised $55,000 for Clive, Waukee and West Des Moines in the Battle of the ‘Burbs 5K, 10K and Kids Fun Run, with 100% of all money raised donated to the community’s foundations. Joining Bravo as co-host provides Mike a new vehicle to support Central Iowa in a way that will have long-lasting impact – today, tomorrow, always.
With Dan and Mike’s proven leadership both in their community work and business, the Bravo Awards Gala will continue to be more than just Des Moines’ party of the year. The event raises critical funds that help offset administrative costs allowing more investment in nonprofit arts, culture and heritage organizations and programs which helps make Des Moines a dynamic city.
