Bravo Awards Over $1.5 Million in Grants to Regional Arts, Culture & Heritage Organizations

DES MOINES, Iowa – Bravo Greater Des Moines awarded Cultural Enrichment Grants totaling more than $1.5 million to 56 arts, culture and heritage organizations across the region. Cultural Enrichment Grants support the operations, programs, activities and educational events of eligible organizations based in central Iowa. These funds help support the vibrant cultural community that central Iowa offers to residents and visitors.

As a regional collaboration of sixteen partner local governments – Altoona, Ankeny, Bondurant, Carlisle, Clive, Des Moines, Grimes, Indianola, Johnston, Norwalk, Polk City, Polk County, Urbandale, Waukee, West Des Moines and Windsor Heights– Bravo Greater Des Moines works to strengthen arts and culture organizations through community cultural leadership, targeted grant investments and support of collaborative projects and initiatives. Bravo invests in the cultural community of central Iowa and recognizes quality of life is a key factor in the success of the region – driving livability, economic development and business attraction and retention. The arts, cultural and heritage organizations receiving funding provide a wide variety of programs, services and activities throughout central Iowa and contribute to the economic and cultural vitality of the region.

Eligible organization applications were reviewed based on the merits of the application, the strength of the organization and the impact Bravo investments could make on operations. Bravo is proud to partner with the organizations receiving grant awards to further the impact these groups make in our community.
