Indigenous Iowans Day
October 12 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Explore the early cultures that shaped our state
Saturday, October 12 • 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
All activities included with General Admission
Our Ioway Farm represents the Indigenous People who lived in 1700 on the land that would eventually become the state of Iowa. Today we dig deeper into how the Ioway lived, along with other Indigenous Peoples who have inhabited—and still inhabit—this land. Take part in hands-on demonstrations, crafts, and presentations all day long.
Note as you plan your day: You must ride the tractor cart to reach the 1700 Ioway Farm. Carts depart roughly every 20 minutes, and the ride to the 1700 site takes about 20 minutes.
