Slice of History is one of our Civic Season events for 2024. Full Civic Season calendar:
Emancipation Day (A Juneteenth Event), June 8
Slice of History, June 15
Independence Day, July 4
Independence Day commemorates the birth of the United States, based on the ideals of freedom, equality, justice, and opportunity. Juneteenth, a few weeks earlier, recognizes our ongoing journey to form a “more perfect union.” Civic Season unites our oldest federal holiday with our newest, mobilizing a movement to understand our past and shape our future.
Civic Season is a program begun by Made By Us in 2021, co-created by Gen Z and the nation’s cultural institutions, designed to grow and iterate through the United States’ 250th birthday in 2026.
