Join us on June 18 for a special event screening of Chasing Chasing Amy, a documentary that examines the complex legacy of Kevin Smith’s Chasing Amy on LGBTQ+ people and its life-saving impact on director Sav Rodgers.
Filmmaker and central figure, Sav Rodgers, will be joining us for a Q&A after the film.
Both a tribute to the movie that saved his life as a queer kid coming of age in Kansas and an exploration of its mixed reviews from the LGBTQ+ community, “Chasing Chasing Amy” features candid interviews with Kevin Smith and star Joey Lauren Adams about their difficult and emotional journey of making the film. This documentary is a trans coming of age love story, set against the backdrop of an indie film that solidified some careers and damaged others, exploring the power of media representation and the importance of cinema that shapes our lives.
