Investing in the sustainability and growth of arts, culture and heritage nonprofit organizatoins in Central Iowa is at the heart of Bravo's purpose. Through competitve grantmaking programs, and with contributions from 17 local government partners, Bravo provides support to a wide range of arts, culture and heritage organizations. These nonprofit Cultural Partners support a sector that is a key driver of economic activity and quality of life, making Central Iowa a premier place to live work, play and visit!

Bravo Greater Des Moines honored the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden, Pyramid Theatre Company and Des Moines Business Record Chairman, Connie Wimer, during the 13th Annual Bravo Awards Gala.
During the awards ceremony, the Encore Award was presented to Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden in recognition of the organization’s longstanding and exceptional contributions to the region’s cultural landscape.
Pyramid Theatre Company received the Standing Ovation Award. The Standing Ovation Award honors an organization that has seen tremendous programmatic development and operational excellence over the past one-to-two years.
Connie Wimer, regional business leader and entrepreneur, was honored with the Bravo Award in recognition of her contribution to arts in the region. She is the first woman to receive the Bravo Award in the organization’s history.
Nora Everett, President of Retirement and Income Solutions at Principal Financial Group, and Mary Coffin, Executive Vice President and Head of Customer Excellence at Wells Fargo Home Lending, were featured as the gala’s first female honorary co-chairs and welcomed more than 1,500 guests to the annual event.

Through investments made by 17 local communities, Bravo provides a competitive and reliable source of funding to regional arts, culture and heritage nonprofit organizations and programs. In addition to grantmaking, Bravo also measures the positive impact of arts, culture and heritage organizations on the regional economy, and leads the vision for the future by enhancing and elevating economic development and quality of life for residents and visitors throughout Central Iowa. Proceeds from the Bravo Awards Gala help offset Bravo’s administrative expenses allowing more dollars to be invested back into the arts, culture and heritage organizations that create the entertaining and thoughtful experience we all enjoy.
