The Region’s Arts Council
Bravo Greater Des Moines is the region’s arts council, providing significant funding and support that maximizes the impact of arts, culture and heritage on regional priorities. Funded almost entirely through hotel/motel taxes contributed by 17 local government partners, Bravo supports, amplifies, connects and cultivates the region’s cultural sector.
A healthy cultural ecosystem is more than just a “nice to have” amenity. Beyond quality of life, arts and culture drive the economy, support education and jobs, and advance every regional priority. Bravo is contributing to Greater Des Moines’ reputation as a thriving and vibrant community.

Grantmaking
Bravo currently invests in nearly 100 nonprofit arts, culture, and heritage organizations in Greater Des Moines. Through annual grant programs that support general operations, public art and capital projects, Bravo acts as a transparent and accountable steward of public funds, making high-impact regional investments.
